don’t dm staff

please don’t DM staff for server support

Picture sending only “help?” to one random staff member, then making everyone pull the real issue out one message at a time.

can u help

with what?

Staff DMs are easy to miss, hard to track, and usually hide the issue from the people who can actually help.

For most support issues, staff need context, proof, message links, user IDs, logs, or another team member’s input. A random private “help” message creates extra back-and-forth and slows everything down.

The same goes for:

  • “admin?”
  • “help”
  • “check dm”
  • pinging staff with no context
  • asking the same thing in multiple places

Use the support channel or ticket system, and include the useful details first.

Instead, try this

Hi, I need help with an account issue.

What happened: I cannot access the feature after changing my settings.

What I tried: restarting Discord, checking the FAQ, and trying again.

Proof / ID: screenshot attached, user ID included if needed.

Thanks, that has what we need. We’ll check it.

If your issue is private, use a ticket. If it is a normal question, use the correct support channel so other members can help and learn from the answer.

A useful support message usually includes:

  • what happened
  • what you expected to happen
  • what you already tried
  • screenshots, message links, IDs, logs, or steps to reproduce

Then wait patiently. Reposting, bumping, or DMing more staff usually makes it slower, not faster.

When done right, everyone gets help faster.
